I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Ezra's Warrior Dragon Squad

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

On July 23rd, 2016, my parents were devastated to find out that my little brother, Ezra, had cancer. After finding a firm spot in Ezra's abdomen, the ER doctors at Children's Mercy Hospital told them it was a tumor. At that point, they thought it might be one of two different cancers, either Wilms or Neuroblastoma. After confirming that it was most likely Wilms, they scheduled him for surgery to remove his cancerous right kidney. Thankfully his surgery was a success, and the surgeon was able to remove Ezra's tumor and kidney completely. Once they got comfirmation from the biopsy that they were looking at stage 2 Wilms, they had a course of treatment for Ezra. Ezra received his first round of chemo before he left the hospital. He had 19 rounds of chemotherapy, and our family is so grateful to find out in December that his scans showed no evidence of reoccurrence or metastatic spread.

Even though we received good news on December, our lives for the next several years will involve scans, X-rays, and tests to watch for signs of relapse. This is something we wouldn't wish on anybody else.

Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
