I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: For the Wilcox/PAU kids!

SPONSOR COMMITMENT OF $1000 and on APRIL 17 GOOD-BYE HAIR. As many of you know I have been a Pediatric Oncology Nurse for over 30 years. We have made great strides in treating children with cancer. Our cure rate-yes CURE RATE is over 65% with some types being much higher. When I first started nursing, a child diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia rarely lived more than 6 months-Now our cure rate for this most frequent type of childhood cancer is reaching 90%. As spectacular as this is, it is not 100% and if our combined cure rate is 65%, we have miles to go in other types of childhood cancer. St Baldrick's helps fund some of the research finding these cures. Kapiolani is a member of the national Children's Oncolog Group and both have received funding from them. You heard it right=for a commitment of $1000 - I'm shaving my waist length (when wet) head for all the kids I have known through the years who have cancer and have lost their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research! Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.

Thank you for your support! Auntie Jayne
