I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

***Update: Because of Covid 19, all St. Baldrick's live shaving events originally scheduled for Spring 2020 have been cancelled.

But, as a Knight of the Bald Table, Dame Joannie always keeps her promises!  So, I will be joining the

St. Baldrick's Giant Virtual Shave

When: Saturday, May 23, 2020

Time: 1 pm Eastern Time

This will be the eighth year for me to be shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! But this year will also be a first for me, because I will be joining a new St. Baldrick's "family" closer to my home in Pennsylvania. I will miss my Lawrenceville St. Baldrick's "family" and their awesome event at Amalfi's, but I have decided that since this is my third year living in central PA, it's time to make some new connections near here.  The Madden PT St. Baldrick's 2020 event is in Hershey on May 16, so no more worrying about snow falling on my newly nekkid noggin on Shave Day!

So once again, I am counting on you, my friends and family, to open your hearts and your wallets, and make a donation "on my head". Together we can make a difference for the brave kids fighting for their lives, and the people who.love them. Every dollar brings us a little bit closer to finding better treatments, and hopefully cures. Each year I shave my head as part of my commitment to this cause, in hope that some day soon, no more girls and boys will ever have to lose their hair during treatment, and childhood cancer will no longer be a life threatening diagnosis.

Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U. S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids. Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let's #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
