I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

On August 24, 2010, I lost a very dear friend to breast cancer. My mom was a home health nurse, and she happened to be my mom's patient. That's how I met her, and I'm glad I did. Every time I went to visit her she was always smiling. She was so genuine and sweet. She never lost hope, and that's what I love about her. We would sit and watch TV until she got too tired. I would also read the Bible to her. One of her favorite versus is Psalm 116:9, "That I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living." She had suffered from other medical problems for years, so she wasn't mobile or able to do much. She still helped raise 2 amazing children. She hoped that one day she would be able to walk again with her children and husband. She wasn't able to achieve that before she started walking with Jesus in heaven. One of my favorite memories with her is when I rolled her outside in her wheelchair so she could see how much her flowers had grown. I put my big pink and green sunglasses on her small face. She looked up and cracked a little grin. I said,"You look like a bug!", and then she just giggled. I miss you! So this is for you honey! I love you!

You heard it right - I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!

In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.
