I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Sigma Alpha Iota

I'm shaving my head in an effort to raise money for children's cancer research! Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!

Click "Make a donation" to give online, or donate by phone or mail. 4/8/12 Update: Our event at Illinois Wesleyan took place last Saturday and raised over $11,000! Months ago, I was sitting around with Christina Hoblin, Sigma Alpha Iota's Philanthropies Chair (and organizer of this event), thinking that it would be great if we could get $2000. My original goal was around $50 and I wasn't quite sure if I would be able to raise that much. However, I was able to add another zero to that goal. I came in 6th place and raised over $500. Our Sigma Alpha Iota team came in first place with around $5,500. Girl power, right? We'll probably be known as "that bald sorority". Even though it has only been a week, my hair is growing back fast. I'm really digging the short showers and not worrying about having the car windows down. Everybody seems to agree that I have a nicely shaped head, so you can check out pictures in my gallery. http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/photogallery/502049/2012 I finally decided to pierce my ears so I can eventually sport the look of short hair and large, gaudy earrings. If anybody you know is interested in donating, it isn't too late to donate to this event and you can always make a donation to St. Baldrick's at any time. I have had so much support and encouragement coming from every direction and it has been a breeze (a very cold one, at that) participating in this event.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
