You heard it right - In honor of a colleague's son, Colin, I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!
About Colin: At the age of 17, Colin was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma in his right lung. He underwent surgery and treatment at Children's Hospital in Boston on April 2, 2010. Colin's sarcoma is thankfully in recession, much because of his wonderful team of doctors, including his primary oncologist Dr. Jenny Mack - a recipient of St. Baldrick's grant funding! So needless to say this is my opportunity to help complete the circle and in some small but meaningful way, help children like Colin - because I've seen first hand how powerful the gift of hope and healing can be.
In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.
