I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head on Saturday April 16th after Shabbat in Floral Park, NY with the St. Baldricks Foundation. This foundation raises money for children that are diagnosed with cancer. My goal is to raise approximately $7500. I'm raising this money in memory of my beloved aunt Joelle Chafiian. As many of you remember Joelle, she died at a young age of 62. Joelle was diagnosed with level 4 bile duct cancer. Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) occurs in the small, tube-like bile ducts within the liver that carry bile to the gallbladder. Cholangiocarcinomas account for 10-20 percent of all liver cancers. Intrahepatic bile duct cancer begins in ducts within the liver. Extrahepatic bile duct cancer develops in ducts outside of the liver. Joelle has a special place in my heart. I worked with her in my parents business for many years. She was a wonderful and kind human being who loved life and everyone. She loved to be outdoors and spend time with her family. Joelle's doctors gave her one month to live.  Joelle courageously fought this cancer for 2 and a half years. She had surgery and chemo to remove the cancer. But at the end, cancer prevailed the long and hard fight. Please help me keep her memory alive by donating to my team. Joelle is survived by her loving husband Bijan and her four wonderful children and many grandchildren.

Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Thank you in advance, David Payam Dilmanian
