In February 2012, our family received some terrible news. My little cousin Brittany was diagnosed with cancer. She went through two years of hospitalization and endless treatments. In January of 2014, Brittany lost her fight. She was only 15 years old. Our family was devastated, especially her parents, siblings and two nieces. Each day she fought Brittany always believed. She believed in the power of positivity and always believed in the best outcome no matter the situation. As she faced death, she truly attempted to live each day. Unfortunately this is not the only time our family has been affected by this disease. In 2011, my brother, Robert was diagnosed. In 2017, an older cousin and in 2018, my uncle. Although they were all diagnosed and beat cancer, we still need more funds to help conquer childhood cancers as well as all other forms. It's time for us to " Believe"
So in honor of Brittany, I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
