Hello. Thank you for visiting my page. I'd like to tell you a little bit about my cancer journey. I was only 9 years old when I was diagnosed with grade 3 Ependymoma brain cancer in 2012. It was the day before Thanksgiving when an MRI discovered the brain tumor. I had two brain surgeries to completely remove the tumor. Let me tell you that the pain after waking up from surgery is something I wish nobody has to ever experience! I wanted to die!! I had a lot of tests done and many were very painful, especially spinal taps!! My cancer treatment consisted of 30 rounds of chemotherapy and 33 rounds of radiation. The radiation was so intense that my hair never came back at the tumor location. I have permanent hair loss in 25% of my head. You can image how that goes when people make fun of my "haircut."
I don't want any other kid to go through what I have been through. I had actually shaved my head for the St. Baldrick's Foundation the last four years in a row. If you scroll all the way down on this page, you can view my previous "shavee" pictures.
This year, I am a freshman in high school and decided not to shave. I do feel bad about it, but I still wanted to help the Foundation. At the end of April, I will celebrate my 15th birthday. I decided not to have a birthday party this year and instead of getting gifts, my birthday wish is to raise at least $1,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
Thank you, in advance, for your donation.
Adam
-----Did you know that 300,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year? And in the U.S., one in five will not survive. I want to change that, so I'm raising money to find cures.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids.
