The news this week has been heartbreaking. We have all been moved by little Hazel's story. Her bravery, her determination, her spunk, her faith. The Hammersley family has shared their life with us so openly and honestly. The ups and downs, and the ups and downs. Thanks to Lauren we have all gotten a taste of what it is like to have a child with neuroblastoma. But only a taste. Because unless this has actually happened to you, you don't know. So what can you do? Well, I don't know about you - first I cried , then I got busy.
Hazel's mom specifically asked for donations to be made to St. Baldrick's for Pediatric Cancer reasearch- so that this disease can be cured and never has to happen again.
Here's what I'm going to do:
Next week I will join a group of 12 women who will run 200 miles from Huntington Beach, CA to San Diego, CA. We are honored to use this race as a platform to raise funds for St. Baldrick's/Hope for Hazel. Hazel and her family are an inspiration for the bravery, determination and unshakeable faith they have shown during their long fight with pediatric cancer. We will carry them in our hearts as we run.
Please consider donating a little ( or a lot) to make Pediatric Cancer a thing of the very distant past!!!
Did you know that 300,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year? And in the U.S., one in five will not survive. I want to change that, so I'm raising money to find cures.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids.
