Be a hero for kids with cancer! Join this St. Baldrick's event, and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement. Join our Facebook Group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/pueblowesthatescancer/ The Foundation continues to make great strides in funding very important new research and treatments that will continue to save more and more lives. There is still a lot to do. As I was writing this, I received a notification email from the Foundation that one of the 2015 St. Baldrick's Ambassador's passed away earlier in the day. Caroline Richards was 12 years old.

As many of you know, Andre and Justin have been our Honored Kids for this event every year since we began this event. They will help us kick it off again like he does every year by shaving his silly designs in my head. Justin lost his battle in 2014 but he will continue to be one of our Honored Kids every year because that is exactly why we are doing this, to put a stop to losing kids to horrific cancers. This year, we have a new addition to our Honored Kids. Colton is four years old, lives in our community and is also fighting the brave battle. Colton and Andre will be teaming up to do shave silly designs in my head together this year to kick off the event. We are going to have a lot of fun! It's time for the Seventh Annual Pueblo West St. Baldrick's Event at Jimmy's and THIS is THE YEAR WE WILL BREAK $100,000! In the last 6 years, this awesome Pueblo West event has raised over $88,000! This year, we will finally break the $100,000 mark. But, we need YOU to help reach that $100,000 peak this year! Sign up now by clicking the "join us" button. It only takes 30 seconds to complete. If you have participated in the past, just log in to your account and update your event to this new one. Make sure you list your T-shirt size. Everyone who raises at least $50 will win a free commemorative T-shirt. We would like to have a team from each school. If you have a child who wants to participate, and their school doesn't have a team yet, form a team and invite their friends to join. If someone doesn't want to shave their head, that's okay. They can still sign up as a Volunteer instead of a Shavee and still raise money for their team. Your friends and family from out-of-state can even join your team or start their own associated with this event. If they can't make it the day of the event, they can be a "Virtual Shavee" and have their head shaved at their local barber.
