Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

Brave the Shave for Kids with Cancer with UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland

Join us for our 10th annual St. Baldrick's event, and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement!  To date we have raised over $1.6 million to support research in childhood and adolescent cancer. This year The KBLX Morning Dream Team will be the emcees! Featuring:  Tony Sco, Tony Roberts and Kimmie Taylor.   We will also have a very special performance by WJM! WJM is no ordinary band. William, Jeremy, and Maxare three Bay Area eight graders who have turned their love of music into an instrument for change. Over the past year WJM has taken their musical activism to crowds at the United Nations, AT&T Park and Stanford Maples Pavilion. Every dollar from WJM’s performances has gone to support children’s charities including Children’s Hospital Oakland. We are so lucky to have these young rockers with us today!! Join us to celebrate our young patients and survivors as well as the angels and their families, as we show them what community can do to help one another. Our event will be kicked off with Mayor Libby Schaaf and OPD Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick.  We will have representatives from the Oakland Police Department, Oakland Fire Department, Concord Police Department, Walnut Creek Police Department, and Alameda Police Department as well as our leading teams in fund raising from GoRuck and Blackhawk!  Our Oakland Children's staff, doctors and even the President Dr. Michael Anderson will be bearing their heads in public. Raise awareness for the great care at our hospital in our community for these special young people.   The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
