Welcome to the 15th Annual Rockville Centre St Baldrick's celebration!!! We are really looking forward to having a lot of fun this year as we shave our way to a cure...  If you have volunteered, shaved, donated, attended with us last year, welcome back, are we glad to have you!!! If you are visiting us for the first time, you are most welcome. Last year because of all the support we received in Rockville Centre, we were able to raise over $271,000 for life saving research. In 2016, the St Baldrick's Foundation raised over $38 million and has now funded over $200 million in research since 2005. So Thank You seems a bit inadequate!  Please see click on this link to see the grants funded by your effort in 2016,  https://www.stbaldricks.org/grants-search/grantPeriod/current/country/US/page/1/   Childhood cancer continues to kill more children each year then Aids, Cystic Fibrosis, Juvenile Diabetes and Congenital defects combined. This year over 160,000 children worldwide will be diagnosed with a form of Childhood Cancer. We need to find a cure!  This year we have set our Rockville Centre fund raising goal at $250,000. The overall goal for the St Baldrick's Foundation for 2017 is $40,000,000 worldwide. These funds will be used to fund life saving research, improve treatment protocols and allow more children to have access to clinical trials. They also directly endow the St Baldrick's Fellowship & Scholar Programs. Together these program fund the training and education of the next generation of Childhood Oncologists. Only the best candidates are selected, ensuring that all children will have caring doctors and research scientists well into the future.

This year's bake sale at the event will be in honor of elementary student, Mary Ruchalski so please make sure you visit the bake sale table (yellow balloons) and support it.  Anyone can register to shave or make a donation in her honor as well.

You can also shave or donate in honor or in memory of one of the event "honored kids" listed below or another child or adult.

In addition to the head-shaving and ponytail chopping, the RVC event will also have inspiring speakers, live music by Witches Brew, food, cash bar, bake sale, tons of raffles, 50/50, sports memorabilia, kids' activities, merchandise to buy, Elements massages, and much more. Please remember to bring your checkbooks. So come join us for a motivational, uplifting, action-packed event--all for the great cause of saving young lives.

So if you shaved last year, please join us again for your shave. If you plan on shaving please convince a friend to join you. If you can't shave---donate to your favorite shavee in someone's honor or memory. Please spread the word on St Baldrick's!! We really hope we will see you there.  We will be communicating more details as we get closer to the event. All ponytail choppers need to have ponytails of 8" or longer already banded and chop-ready before they come on stage--for the quick chop.  Please see our RVC event invite FB site and "like" our RVC St. Baldrick's FB page. Please post any event pictures on the RVC St Baldrick's FB page. We have so many RVC establishments, families, shavees , volunteers & residents to thank for all the food, raffles, time, fundraising, help, and donations---THANK YOU!  We look forward to seeing you there and thank you for your continued support ...
