Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

National Partner

Henderson Police Department

In keeping with the long-standing and selfless commitment to the citizens they serve, the Henderson Police Department, in conjunction with the Fraternal Order of Police, Hubert E. Tyndall Lodge #33 and the Henderson-Vance Downtown Development Commission is supporting the St. Baldrick's Foundation in providing assistance by offering their personal and professional support by hosting "Cops Against Childhood Cancer". This event will contribute to the foundation whose goal and focus is funding research for childhood cancer. More children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease. St. Baldrick's "Shaving Events" are held throughout the U.S. and and have raised more than $100 Million Dollars! The lives of children are being changed dramatically through the support of the St. Baldrick's Foundation. You can be a part of this effort by accepting the HPD Challenge to join a team or create one of your own. Visit the website at www.stbaldricks.org, search for "Venue Pending" for the Henderson Police Department. Once you find that, click "join team" and enter the sign-in information. You will be asked if you want to join an existing team or create a new team. To create a new team enter your team name and follow the prompts. Then ask your employees, family, friends and/or volunteers to join your team and start raising money for your participation in this event. For every team member that collects or donates $50.00 you get a St. Baldrick's t-shirt. Every dollar makes a difference in the life of a child who really needs our help. The Head Shaving event and festivities will begin at 10:00 am with a sidewalk sale from our Downtown Henderson merchants. Head Shaving will begin at 1:00 pm on center stage which will be located near Breckenridge Street. More details regarding entertainment, food vendors, craft vendors etc., will be posted as soon as the details are finalized. Marcus Barrow Chief of Police Henderson, NC
