February 2014 - Hip Hip Hooray! In a few short weeks, Georgia will be celebrating TWO years off treatment! It's a huge milestone in many ways, not the least of which is her care will now be transferred to the LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center! That has a lovely ring to it - and describes our girl perfectly: she is living STRONG, and she is most definitely a SURVIVOR! We are so grateful to her treatment team at the Children's Blood and Cancer Center, so taking this next step in Georgia's journey is bittersweet. They are and will always be like family to us, so we're going to do what families do - help each other. The Peachy Keens remain committed to raising awareness, hope, and funds for childhood cancer research, so we're back for our fifth year with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which funds more research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Through our participation in the Dell Children's event in March and the 46 Mommas event in July, we are again helping to fund research into safer, less toxic treatments and, ultimately, cures for all kids in the fight. And we would love for you to join us! It's been a long road, but Georgia continues to amaze and inspire us. Help us honor her courage, and that of the 46 children who will be diagnosed today, by supporting the St. Baldrick's Foundation and childhood cancer research. This could be the year, y'all - let's CONQUER! To follow Georgia's journey, check out her blog: www.keepingeorgiaonyourmind.blogspot.com. Thanks!
