This year the Kings Park Fire Department is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. To help celebrate 100 years of service to our community we have challenged our firefighter and EMS bretheren from our local neighboring Fire Departments to a "SHAVE OFF" which will be held immediately following the Kings Park St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday March 2, 2013 at the Firehouse. This event is a Fire Department challenge and is not opened to the public. The Kings Park Fire Department realizes that this parade, since its inception, has been a sucessful gathering of our community and also greatly impacts the Kings Park business community. We support our local business community 100% and do not want to interfere with such a big day for our local merchants. At the same time it is the perfect day for our neighboring Fire Departments since they will be already participating in the parade. After the "SHAVE OFF" we will be sure to encourage our brothers and sisters to visit our local businesses before heading back to their communities.
I wanted also to recognize that we are still working in conjunction with Jimmy Pavese and the Park Lounge in setting up this event. This will be a sattelite event for the Park Lounge and our sincere hope is to raise enough monies this year to put the Park Lounge over $100,000 of donations on our Fire Departments 100th Anniversary. We could not think of a better way to try and do our part in Conquering Childrens Cancer. Please help our members by supporting our team with your tax deductible donation which can be done online, or at the event. Please call the Kings Park Fire Department at 631-269-6846 ext. 209 or visit our website at kingsparkfd.org for more information on donating. Thank you in advance for your support and together with our brother and sister Firefighters we can help extinguish childrens cancer once and for all.
