April 25th 1994 and March 19th 2011. What do these dates have in common? I’ll tell you. - April 25th 1994, after a 14 year layoff, Don Henley and the Eagles begin one of the most anticipated reunion tours in the history of entertainment. - March 19th 2011, after a 372 day layoff, the most highly sought after fund raising team in the history of Norwich charity events will begin their reunion tour. That’s right! If you haven’t already guessed it, Tim O’Brien and the rest of team Just Give me the Damn Bald! will come together once again in an effort to fight kids cancer. Obviously, the Eagles reunion held slightly more social significance. But that was last century. So until Nick and Jessica have their inevitable reunion (fingers crossed), I think everyone is in agreement that team Just Give me the Damn Bald!’s reunion is the biggest so far this century. My thought is that our success last year was mostly due to our undeniable sex appeal. But my wife assures me that thought would be wrong. So it got me thinking of alternative reasons. If not our undeniable sex appeal (which is undeniable) what was it that allowed us to raise over $8,500? And it became obvious that our belief and commitment to this cause was the real driving force behind JGMTDB!. That belief and commitment is still burning within us, which is why we’re back. That, and the groupies. Last year was an amazing experience. After having our heads shaved, we were all proud of what we accomplished. Directly or indirectly, we knew what we’d done was going to help children in need, and that’s a feeling that’s indescribable. Then we all got drunk and watched Josh McBennett (our sexiest team member) do The Running Man to songs by Salt-N-Pepa. But that was all last year. Kids are in need of help right now. Simply put, when I refer to team JGMTDB!, I’m not just referring to the members of the team that got their heads shaved, I’m also referring to all those that are generous enough to donate to this cause. Without you there is no JGMTDB!. So once again, please help us help Kids Conquer Cancer. Thank you.
