My wife wanted to be a ‘shavee’ this year in solidarity with the kids fighting cancer in return for donations from friends and family. At first I joked about it, but when I really started to think, it took me just 30 seconds to say ‘yes’ to shaving my head too. As a paediatric surgeon, I have treated many children who have cancer. I feel compelled to do something extra for them, and shaving my head is such a small thing compared with what those children endure. I would be really grateful if my colleagues, friends and family could make a donation to support the life-saving cancer research fund so that children diagnosed with cancer can have a better chance for a cure. Funds raised will be allocated to the Children’s Cancer Foundation (Hong Kong) exclusively to fund childhood cancer research. Please join me!
