Celebrating 25 Years

The Jen's Ducks team was formed in 2011 in honor of Jennifer Accardo. Jennifer began her cancer journey in late 2004 at the age of 14. Shortly after we learned of the St Baldrick's Foundation and I shaved my head for the first time in March 2005. I've done so every year since. In 2018 I also started leading a challenging bicycle ride symbolic of a child's cancer journey.

Sadly Jen's cancer was a very rare variant. Despite 6 years of aggressive treatment including powerful chemotherapy and radiation to her brain and spine her cancer went into remission then returned. In May of 2010 she passed from this terrible disease.

Along the way, Jen and I became part of the amazing Northport St. Baldrick's committee. Jen was an avid fundraiser and an inspiration to all she met. Amongst her many loves, Ducks held a special place in her heart. It was only natural that after her passing we created the "Jen's Duck's" team in her honor. Our logo is actually taken from a print she made in art class.

Each year the Jen's Ducks team brings together an ever-changing group of people who have either been touched by childhood cancer, or want to make a difference for children with cancer. Together we are helping improve treatments and funding the next breakthrough in childhood cancer research. Please help us achieve our goal with your generous donations.

Thank You!

John Accardo
