Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

In 2013, our dad lost his battle with Ewings Sarcoma. He was a massive supporter of St. Baldrick's and participated every year, including his last. Since his passing, we have done what we can to honor his memory. To me, this is one of the best ways to do so. Continue supporting his favorite foundation. Now, I might not be brave enough to shave my head just yet, but that's not the only thing I can do to show my support. In my four years at EGHS, I have been a part of this event twice. Unfortunately, my junior year didn't bring with it the opportunity to fundraise in dad's honor due to the pandemic. This year is going to be different. For my senior year, and Brooke's freshman year, we've decided to bring back the Sarcoma Sister Squad. Our starting goal is $2,500 and we have until March 11th to fundraise. At our event, some folks will shave their heads – and others like me will keep the hair we have and put our hearts into supporting childhood cancer research. During the pandemic, donations have been down sharply, which is a big deal since the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest non-government supporter of childhood cancer research grants. Family and friends, with your help we can reach our goal and maybe even surpass it. Please donate if you are able to and if you aren't, no worries! Simply share this link with friends, coworkers, family, really anyone able to donate.
