I say "O is for Courage" because Olivia is my daughter and she has personified courage to me in the most absolute sense. O is also for Osteosarcoma and as a dad I can tell you it has changed my life. You know you are in a dark corner of the cancer world when your child is sick and all the best doctors in the world tell you that the treatment regimen for your little girl is 40 years old. April and I searched high and low, with help we imported something from Europe, and we watched our Olivia gut it out through surgery and ridiculous amounts of chemo with her chin held high, with courage. But "We", and I mean you and me, have to do better, we have to make this right. Kids with sore knees or elbows that get surprised with bone cancer need a cure. I started the Osteosarcoma Collaborative with brave parents to shine light on this dark corner and find a cure. Help us fund the kind of meaty grant that will attract the best cancer researchers and shut this thing down. Once we fund this $1.5 million project we will fund the next, and the next, and the next, until we win. But know that to make real research progress it has to be large, targeted grants. So make a difference now, and dig deep with me, for the kids. O is for courage. Mike Egge
