I can confirm that I will indeed be shaving my head for St.Baldrick's this year. A combination of being a party to losing bet a few years ago, persuasion by work colleagues and the opportunity to raise some money for the St. Baldrick's foundation convinced me that this is the right time to step forward.
For those of you that are not familiar with the St. Baldrick's foundation, it now funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Since 2000, events have taken place in 24 countries and 50 US states, raising over$ 68 million. More than 106,000 volunteers have shaved their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family - each one becoming a walking billboard for the cause.
Over the next month I will reach out to as many of people as I can directly to get as much support as I can for this extremely worth cause.
Some people have pointed out that I do not have that much to shave off, what little I have provides some valuable respite from the Connecticut winter, so please give generously.
