I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

I am volunteering with Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine's Pediatric's Club to raise money for childhood cancer research!

Here are some facts about cancer research for children:

- Approximately, 300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year WORLDWIDE.

- About 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will have cancer before the age of 20.

- In the U.S., more children die of childhood cancer than any other diseases combined.

- Childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded with less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute's budget that is dedicated to childhood cancer research.

- In the last 20 years, only four new drugs that were specifically developed to treat children with cancer have been approved.

We have decided to do something about it by raising money for research in cures.

"St. Baldrick's mission is to find cures for childhood cancers and to give survivors long and healthy lives. They are the largest private (non-government) funder of childhood cancer research grants.

By funding cooperative research through the Children’s Oncology Group, they give kids nationwide access to the very latest in research and clinical trials, and fund only the very best childhood cancer research."

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation, please?

Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

Let's help raise money for this amazing cause!
