I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Dear Family, Friends, and Colleagues, I am involved in a fundraiser to benefit the St. Baldrick's Foundation and it is quickly approaching, Sunday, April 18th to be exact. St. Baldrick's is a charitable foundation that is devoted to both increasing the awareness of childhood cancer and raising money to fund children's cancer research. Public awareness and financial donations are raised by volunteers shaving their heads, a gesture symbolic to thousands of children who lose their hair due to cancer treatments each year. The primary beneficiary of this event is the Children's Oncology Group, the world's foremost network of childhood cancer research. I came to the conclusion that, given that many of my family and friends have endured dealing with various forms of cancer, there is no way I could not be a part of this mission, and so I will be shaving my head. My goal is to reach $5,000 by April 18th! We really do need your help, both in raising public awareness and raising funds. Please spread the word of St. Baldrick's and children's cancer to your family, friends, co-workers, corporations, and anyone else you know. If you're interested in getting involved, please let me know, and I can help get you set up. If you are interested in contributing an In-Kind gift, please let me know and I can make sure you receive the proper form to fill out and also make sure the gift's value gets added to our list of Silent Auction Gifts. I understand that we are facing a difficult economic state and that donations are not as easy to offer this year, but times like these make it even harder for organizations like St. Baldrick's to achieve its mission without the help of those that are capable. If it is in your heart to financially contribute, please see the link below. All contributions are tax deductible. The easiest way to donate is on-line via debit or credit card. If you do want to send cash or a check, please print and fill out the form from our website, and send it along with your donation. Please note that our event's overall goal is to raise $100,000 by April 18th. You will be able to track our progress at the link below. If you have any questions, please let me know!
