While there are a lot of high-profile events and coverage for cancer awareness and research the focus is on cancers that impact adults, and not cancers that are unique to children. Unfortunately this means that childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded, and leading to childhood cancer becoming the number one killer of children in the US!
So I have decided to do what I can to help. I may not be ready to run marathons, or host a bake sale, but on May 20th I am going to participate in St. Baldrick's event in Dover, NH by getting my head shaved, as they strive to raise $10,000 to aid in research and development of treatments.
While I would like to recommend you all look for a St. Baldrick's event near you and enjoy a free "haircut" to help raise money, I know some of you would feel the same way about that as I do about running a marathon! However you can help by supporting me as I get my head shaved, and donating what you can to this great cause.
Every bit helps.
Thank you.
