I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Pi Kappa Alpha

This Spring, despite graduation preparation and impending job interviews, I am shaving my head one last time for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Each 'shavee' has donors sponsor them to shave his or her head on St. Baldrick's Day. The foundation grants funds to institutions and hospitals that are researching and treating childhood cancer. More information about the foundation and its history can be found at www.stbaldricks.org. This is my fraternity’s, Pi Kappa Alpha’s, 6th year hosting the event at Bradley University. Last year we raised over $25,000! We also had seven women (one from the Moss-Bradley Neighborhood Association), the Bradley basketball coach, the entire soccer team and coach, in addition to over 150 shave their heads. The beautiful weather, good food, and music added to our philanthropy’s success. For the first time, St. Baldrick’s at Bradley was awarded with the Philanthropy of the Year. This year, we are hosting St. Baldrick’s Day on April 12th (Parent’s Weekend) in the quad on campus and we ambitiously hope to surpass last year's total. We will be shaving heads all day as an act of solidarity towards cancer. There are twelve girls already signed up, the highest amount ever! Each year we are featured in the Peoria Journal Star and we hope to have good media coverage again this year. Coverage from last year’s shaving: http://www.pjstar.com/news/x1726852355/Shaved-Heads-for-Cause Last year, your donations helped me easily surpass my goal. I am asking for any donation to help reach my new goal and to make this philanthropy a success. We have all been touched by cancer and know that any help to further research and treatment is greatly appreciated. Here are my photos from last year’s event: http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/516111/2012 Thank you so much and God bless! Stephen
