I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hey! My name is Shea Dankenbrink and I'm raising money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. Thus I am raising money for cures! Now, I need your help. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. The child I am honoring is a family-friend, Taylor, who is now a beautiful angel. She was one of my sister's close childhood friends and battled cancer for about two years, and sadly lost that fight at age 11. Taylor was an extremely intelligent and sweet girl, who loved sock monkeys, reading (she had even been reader of the month one summer at our local library), and fashion, and had a heart of gold. She positively influenced my life and others' in many ways, and thus if I reach my fundraising goal I will be shaving my head once again in her honor. During the pandemic, donations have been down sharply, which is a big deal since the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest non-government supporter of childhood cancer research grants. I want to make sure kids know we care. I want more research to save lives. Please support this cause by sharing my page or making a donation of any amount. Thank you!
