My Story

Nicolas was an energetic healthy happy 5 year old. After going to a street fair on May 19, 2014 Nicolas was having trouble breathing and asked to be taken to the hospital. By early morning on May 20th we found out that Nicolas had a cancerous tumor the size of a soda can inside of his liver. In under 12hours our lives would forever change. Nicolas had major surgery which removed 60% of his liver, his gall bladder, many lynphnodes and shaved his diaphragm. After his big surgery he had another small surgery to insert a port which is how he would receive chemotherapy. After 3 rounds of chemo Nicolas is now CANCER FREE!!!!! He lost his hair, a lot of weight, a "normal" summer outside playing,  part of his hearing, and suffered many other side effects from the chemo. Even with all of that Nicolas never ever complained!!!! He was always positive and thinking of others. Nicolas still has some daily struggles due to the chemo but is CANCER FREE and that is all that matters!!!
