My name is Laura Maria (Faber on Facebook). I am raising money for research on childhood cancer. My daughter was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma at the age of 12. She had a tumor at the base of her femur bone. She was treated with chemo and had a surgery that cut off half of her femur bone and replaced it with titanium and a new knee. We recently went for a checkup and they called her a survivor at 27. Doctors are really not sure how to follow patients that had cancer as children because they did not survive years ago.
When she was being treated 15 years ago, we spent many weeks in the hospital. I had never known that so many children were being diagnosed with cancer. Cancer and kids should not be in the same sentence! I worked with Team in Training for many years raising funds for Leukemia research. Now I am teaming up with St. Baldrick to raise money for research for childhood cancer. Please help me by donating.

I will be shaving my head on March 17th at the Plaza on Main St. in Martinez. Every little bit counts.
I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
