I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Schaumburg Firefighters Local 4092

So, on the left it says "Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer."   All too often we hear these types of statistics expressed this way..."every X minutes something happens."  We hear it so often that it is easy to kind of brush it off by thinking "Well, that is something happening somewhere else to someone else."  So a few years ago (this is my TENTH year by the way!) I thought of it in a rephrased way.  And once I did, it totally changed everything.  This made it very real to me.  I'll just leave this here...


"Every 2 minutes, a parent learns that it isn't  'someone else's kid'   this time."
