I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I will be on this earth for 25 years on June 2nd. I have dedicated about half of those years to children. I have worn the hats of nanny, advocate, sister, teacher, and sitter. I work in a field where I get the honor and privilege of shaping and molding the lives of our future generation. Sadly, some of the children, whom I have not gotten the privilege to engage, teach and love, are the children who gain strength to become warriors fighting against the enemy of cancer, far ahead of their time. I have put my physical appearance above much in my life, especially my hair. I have always had long hair my whole life, even when I was just as small as some of the great warriors that are fighting cancer. I have felt confident in my hair, using it as a shield at times. How these children's parents would long to have something to "shield" and protect them from their illness. Yes, I am asking for donations. Childhood Cancer is very underfunded. Those Children deserve the care, and the chance to receive it. So I am fundraising. For The warriors. For those kids, who have more strength and courage than I could ever have. So if losing my shield, [my hair] would give them the gift to possibly shield and help them from their cancer, I will lose my shield, being exposed for the world to see. Please think and pray of donating. Whether I get $1 or $100- I will be dropping my shield on the night of my 25th birthday. Children are our future generation. I want to help give kids a chance to be a part of that future. Thank You! Katey
