In honor of Mason, I'm shaving my head again for this St. Baldrick's fundraiser on April 28, 2018 and I'm looking for donations to support this great cause! I'm also looking for some additional brave souls to join me in shaving!
Almost 8 years ago, our lives were turned upside down when our incredible 5 year old was diagnosed with a brain tumor and the roller coaster ride began. Fast forward through surgeries, treatments, side effects and life, and we now have an amazing 13 year old. Unfortunately, there has been active growth recently and the eight months Mason recently spent on a clinical study did not have the successful outcome we all were hoping for and a new treatment plan is in the works.
Because of organizations like St. Baldrick's and those who donate, the treatments Mason had 8 years ago were the greatest available at the time. Once again today, St. Baldrick's and those who donate are a big part of the reason there are new treatments today that did not exist 8 years ago, or even last year. We look forward to getting to use the words remission and cure at some point!
I am humbled that Parker's Mayor, Mike Waid, started this Shave the Mayor event in our community back in 2013, in part because of Mason's story.
Since what hair I actually have grew back after last year's Shave the Mayor event, I knew I was meant to join this great cause again. Please consider making a donation for this event, or if willing and able, please consider joining the event as part of a Shave team that I have created: Team Incredible. The Incredibles was the Disney-Pixar release in 2004 when Mason was born, and as timing has it, the sequel is being released this summer. It's a sign of good things to come! And frankly, Mason is absolutely INCREDIBLE!
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
