My Story

On February 14, 2019, I was diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma at the age of 19 while I was enrolled at the University of Arizona in Tucson. When I was cleared to travel in mid-March 2019, I moved back to the Chicagoland area to live with my family where I am being treated at Ann and Robert Lurie Children’s hospital in Chicago. I have been taking online classes throughout treatment to obtain a degree in nursing. In total, my journey will last two and half years. Throughout my journey, my family and friends have helped motivate, support, and encourage me. Living with cancer has made me mature and grow as an individual--I am now more empathetic and compassionate towards others. As I tirelessly fight this disease, I am determined to use my time and experiences to improve the lives of others, especially children who may be undergoing similar battles, and provide them that same will to win that I have.
