I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: FP Ice Crew

First off I would like to say a huge thank you for previously donating or if you are planning to donate this year.

This will be my fifth year shaving my head for St. Baldricks. This is a highlight of my year, because it feels good to give back. I know that sounds cliche, but it means a lot more for me this year. Recently I had a close friend tell me that her cancer might have relapsed, and she was waiting for the test results. Immediately my mind started to go crazy, as I haven’t had someone so close to me so scared. It hit me very hard. The waiting and uncertainty made me feel all different kind of emotions. I thought about the families whose children are going through a hard battle - how hard that hits them and all their loved ones. The cancer wasn’t confirmed, luckily, but it was a scare.

So now going into St. Baldrick's for my fifth year made me think of a deeper meaning about what shaving my head was for. I am here to fight for everyone that is hurt by this horrible disease, I am here. This is my meaning of what it is to shave my hair. Thank you for your support.
