I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: A Team Without A Company

Well, that time is upon us once again, the time to donate to ST. BALDRICK'S - that's right on March 16th, I will be shaving the old head and beard for charity

I know that the first thing that is going to enter your mind s that "isn't Mike Fried retired and out of insurance?" Well, the answer is Yes (for now, at least) but I want you to remember one very important thing.

GIVING TO ST. BALDRICK'S ISN'T ABOUT MIKE FRIED, IT IS ABOUT CURING CHILDHOOD CANCERS.

In my two previous shavee years, you’ve donated an incredible $60,661 for St. Baldrick’s!! Amazing!!

What does this mean for research funded? Here are some examples:

1. $5,000 provides for a student to work in a pediatric oncology research lab as a summer fellow. This possibly encourages them to choose childhood cancer research as a specialty. You’ve donated enough to fund 12 summer fellows! Here’s a blog on the summer fellows we funded in 2017.

2. $50,000 provides for researchers to be able to conduct a year of research to improve patient and survivor quality of life. This is our supportive care research grant type and you’ve donated enough to fund one of them.

3. $60,661 provides 1,213 hours of research in the lab that may lead to new discoveries for treatment or cures. This is our research grant type, which are year-long projects that look to find new and better cures for childhood cancers.

Please go to my page at https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/939385/2018 and contribute.

It's not for me - it's for the sick kids.
