Well, here we go again. Our job is not yet done. Children and young adults are still dying of cancer related illness and treatments. This, unfortunately, is my 16th year shaving my head to support the amazing works of St. Baldrick's Foundation. I had hoped that my "within 10 years we'll find the cures" wish would have come true. I've come to find out its not that simple. The obstacles and hurdles that research scientists and physicians face are unbelievable. And to get through those obstacles, they need funding. It's not easy competing against the monies big pharmaceuticals put up to slow us down. It's not easy persuading politicians (ones that the big pharmaceuticals financially support) that research findings are real and authorization is needed before they can be moved forward.
We have to forge on and raise funds for necessary research to help conquer kids' cancers. I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So we need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
