I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Ravenscroft School

Hello! My name is Alexa Tascher, and I am cutting and donating my hair for St. Baldricks! This is the second time I have chipped in towards childhood cancer fundraising. The first time, I chopped twelve inches off, and I am pledging to do the same this year. After my hair is cut, it will be trimmed and dyed with other donors' locks and crafted into a wig for a child who has undergone cancer treatment and lost their hair.

Childhood cancer is different in many ways from adult cancer, such as how it is not commonly caused by health or environmental factors, but by DNA changes in cells as kids grow. In other words, many children diagnosed with cancer could not have done anything to prevent it - you can't just ask a kid to stop growing! Research for this kind of cancer is also very underfunded, and I decided to take a stand with St. Baldricks to do something about it. I've grown my hair out for three years, and it's about time to lose the extra locks and give them to this awesome charity!

Now, I need your help. Every single dollar makes a difference towards my cause, and I hope that you can help the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults battling cancer.
