I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Rocking Bald for the Cause

This represents YEAR 4 for me participating in the St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event to raise money to fund the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long, healthy lives. For those of you that have been with me on this journey over the last several years, you know how much my grandchildren mean to me. God has blessed me with FIVE grandchildren. As I have said before, I cannot begin to describe how devastating it would be to hear a doctor say, “Your child (grandchild) has cancer”. Unimaginable, yet it is happening all around us. Each year worldwide, 175,000 children and teens are diagnosed with cancer. Several of you know this all too well, as you yourselves have heard these very words. Thanks to your continued support, together we had a fantastic showing last year. A few statistics: 1. In 2014, together you and I raised $4,176. 2. In 2015, together you and I raised $5,580. 3. Last year, together you and I raised $4,777 and finished in 1st place out of 373 participants (the bald people) in Columbia! Columbia raised $120,803 in total. Thank you for an awesome finish last year. 4. My goal this year is to reach the $20,000 mark in four years. So, my goal this year is $5,467. I am asking you to prayerfully consider supporting this cause. God has blessed me with a lot of good friends and plenty of hair – for now anyway! May God continue to bless you, your family and Mary Amelia, Fred
