I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

This is the second year I will be participating in this incredible event and this March I am honored to be a shavee ambassador for the cause of curing childhood cancers. Through social mediums we have all become more and more aware of the children and families right around us that are working tirelessly to beat these debilitating diseases.

Still for many, cancer is a villain that strikes later in life and prevents us from enjoying our twilight years. St. Baldrick's works to inform and support the fight against cancers that rob the next generation of the opportunity to drive a car, graduate from college or even spend time playing pickup in the driveway. Through our shaving event, we hope to raise money and awareness among our friends and family of those less fortunate who make choices everyday that we never had to consider.

Thanks to our generous community members and family, in 2016, our team "Bald and the Beautiful" in Las Vegas, NV was able to raise $23,596 or 196% of our goal!

I am asking for your support as we try to top our goal from 2016 by raising $2,000 for St. Baldricks this year. But my ask does not stop there.... I ask each of you to consider ways you can help through direct action. There are lots of groups in your daily lives that impact these families beyond the medical labs. Churches, synagogues, first responders, and various local philanthropic chapters offer a chance to volunteer at a fundraising event or cook a meal for a family struggling to cope with the daily impact of a child with cancer. Please seek out these wonderful organizations and lend a hand.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about this cause and consider what you can do, in your own community, to Conquer Childhood Cancers!
