I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

My name is Kyan Hands and I am an 8 year old at Saltus Grammar School in Bermuda. I have decided to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. My Dad had cancer in his right kidney last year and had to have it removed at the Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. I was so scared and missed him a lot while he was in the hospital and I couldn’t stand the thought of anyone suffering pain and feeling sick from cancer. I am very thankful for his two doctors, Dr. Roseman and Dr. Palese, who helped to find his cancer and saved him and I wish everyone could be cancer free like my dad. I am also thankful for our friends who supported us.

Shaving my head is my way of letting children with cancer know there are a lot of people looking out for them and that they don’t have to fight cancer on their own. Funds I raise will go towards eliminating cancer for children.

Thank you so much for donating. Any little bit will help.
