I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Treehouse

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Treehouse

In case you didn't know, I work at the UCSC Genomics Institute. We are doing research that is very promising in the fight against cancer. One of our groups is particularly focused on childhood cancers, and we are participating in a fund raiser which also raises awareness on some of the progress that has been made so far. In solidarity with the kids who lose their hair during treatment, we will "brave the shave" and shave our heads. Now, some people have told me that I'm already losing my hair, so I'm not sacrificing much. Well, I'll put my money where my hair isn't: For every Facebook friend that donates to my campaign, I will add $10 to the donation. No matter how big or small your donation is. Facebook claims I have over 300 friends, so I could be on the hook for over $3000 in donations. Go ahead and donate. It is a great cause. Do it now, the hair falls on October 28. I'll post pictures after the shave...

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
