I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Collins Cause

St. Baldricks is a non-profit organization that raises money for childhood cancer research. Every March, they hold a fundraising event called Hampton Roads Shave to Raise. Participants commit to shaving their heads to raise money for childhood cancer research.   Collin was diagnosed with Pre-B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in May 2015. In December, Collin's mediport that he receives chemo therapy treatments through became infected. Collin was hospitalized in December and during a talk with one of his favorite nurses Collin stated that not only did he want to be the one to shave her head, he also wanted to have his head shaved for this event. Between not being sure that he even remembered that conversation and considering he is still in ICU, I didn't mention it to him again. Well, last night, his nurse came to visit him to tell him that she is going to shave her head in his honor (since he can't be at the event this year). This upset Collin and he stated that he 'wanted to do it'. Well, I figure that just because he isn't able to be at the event, it shouldn't prohibit him from shaving his head to raise money for childhood cancer. On Saturday, I will bring in shears to his hospital bedside and will see if one of his caregivers would like to do the honors. Let's help Collin raise money for this wonderful cause by donating to St. Baldricks, on his behalf!  Let's get a message to him showing him that he can still accomplish things despite his temporary limitations!
