This marks the third year that Luke and I have decided to shave our heads to raise money for childhood cancer research.
We got the idea from our team captain, Liam W., and when I told Luke what Liam was doing he immediately said that we should do the same thing to help sick kids out. Luke was 4 years old the first time he got shaved and i made sure he understood that he would have no hair for a while, but that it would grow back. I made sure he knew that kids may make fun of him for being bald and he said he didn't care so long as he was helping someone who was sick. I was very impressed with my then 4 year old and am continually proud to be his father. When he asked me to help the decision was easy.
I am asking any of you who read this to consider making a donation. Every $5, $10, $25 donation matters and helps tremendously. In the past year and a half there have been some amazing breakthroughs in the field of cancer treatment research, but we are not there yet. WE can beat cancer in our generation once and for all.
Please consider donating ... the rest of this post is the message put out by St. Baldrick's.
I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
