I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Hair Cuttin' Minions :)

I am a second year medical student at the University of Illinois at Chicago and co-President of the UIC chapter of the American Medical Women’s Association. This year, AMWA is working with the Chicago Cancer Society to fund raise for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest private funder of pediatric cancer research.

As both a future doctor and a mother of four, I feel passionately about filling the funding gap that exists for research into cancers that primarily affect children, such as leukemias and lymphomas. Since its inception in 2004, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation has raised over $100 million to fund childhood cancer research through hypothesis-driven grants, scholar awards, and clinical trials. Last year alone, 1,300 volunteer-led head shaving events raised over $35.5 million.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
