I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: 501st WI Garrison & Friends

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: 501st WI Garrison & Friends

With all my cousins who have had children, and all my close friends who have as well, I consider myself amazingly lucky that so far all have been healthy. 10 fingers each, ten toes each, two eyes each, and each with a smile and laugh can touch right to your heart; and I am immensely thankful for each of those little miracles.

None of my friends or family who are parents have had to face a doctor telling them their infant -- barely large enough to carry in both arms -- had a brain tumor; none of them have faced a Christmas in a pediatric oncology ward, and perhaps the only thing I can do in gratitude for these miracles is to try to raise money for the parents who have had to face these horrors.
If you, your friends, or your family have healthy young children, I would ask two things of you:
First, that you take a moment to thank whatever higher power you believe in -- even if only the eccentricities of random chance and genetic mutation -- for the rare and beautiful gift a healthy child is.
Second, I would ask you to take a moment to see if your budget can afford a donation [preferably through my participant page; -) ], and if you can afford to, please give.
And a random third, if you can make it to Fond du Lac on February 27th, feel free to come see an Imperial Officer get his head shaved grin emoticon

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
