I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Now, a little about me. I am father to Sydney Kallus, a St. Baldrick's honored kid. Sydney was diagnosed with Stage IV Burkitt's Lymphoma on October 24, 2014. She received 9 rounds of chemotherapy, several LP/ITs, numerous blood and platelet transfusions, and spent 123 days in the hospital. But, as of June 30, 2015, she was declared to be in remission, with no evidence of disease. Praise God!
Now, I have experienced firsthand how cancer affects children and their families. I have seen and endured things I never thought possible; that no father should ever have to. But cancer is all around us. Adults and, unfortunately, children, are diagnosed every day. Children having cancer is wrong on so many levels, but what's worse is that their cancer is different, yet there isn't near the amount of research done that is needed that can treat it accordingly. Childhood cancers just don't receive the funding they need to improve treatments and outcomes for these precious kids.
Please consider making a donation to St. Baldrick's, who directly funds childhood cancer research. You can make this donation in honor of Sydney, or any other brave kid you know, or in memory of a precious child who lost their battle with cancer. However, you do it, know that every dollar can make a difference in the life of a child and their family.
Thank you!
