I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

To Everyone Who Supported Me,

Whether your contributions were financial, words of encouragement, or physically being present, thank you. While shaving my head is not a new experience for me -- nor did it take nearly as much courage as many of the long-haired or well groomed shavees -- participation was not always easy. After nearly 20 years of battling cancer on 4 separate occasions, I lost my best friend to cancer less than 3 months ago. It has been difficult putting on a smile with every post and every conversation about fundraising for childhood cancer research. However, knowing I had support from friends, family, and even strangers made me continue to give it my all and not settle when I reached my first goal ($1,000), or even the second one($2,000). I am proud to say that I was able to reach my final goal of $7,000 and I couldn't have done it without all of you. I know that my words will never be enough to express my gratitude for all of the support I have felt throughout this process, or how thankful I am for the amount of action I've seen fighting this terrible affliction, but from the bottom of my heart I want to again say thank you.
Sincerely,
Joe
