I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Happy Almost March Everyone!

Some of you might have noticed that my hair has been getting some length to it. Not my typical style. Well my thought is that it will have a more dramatic effect when I shave it all off in support of those with childhood cancers. You read that right, This hair is going bye-bye. All for a good cause.

Lisa and I have been blessed thus far with having three beautiful kiddos with no health issues other than the occasional cold. However, for some parents out there, that’s just not the case. Many of us either know of someone (either close to us or at a distance) who has a child that is fighting a form childhood cancer.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a charity totally dedicated to eradicating childhood cancers through research and supporting those who are going though that fight today. Last year, in Sioux Falls, over $33,000 was raised.

This will be (if I remember right) my third time doing this event. For some reason my wife likes my hair and is a bit hesitant when I tell her that I want to shave it all off for St. Baldrick’s. Every time. This time is no different. But when she sees the dollars raised to help kids like ours who have the extra burden of fighting cancer, her opinion changes. Especially now that we both look at our growing family of healthy little ones.

After all, it’s only hair.
