I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Baldtenders

Dear friends,

I'm shaving my head. I hope you'll take just a few minutes to read the story of how I got to this point. You see, back in 2002, I agreed to letting one of my best friends John Tirabassi (who helped me campaign that year, and later served as the campaign manager of my first run for the House of Delegates in 2006) shave my head if I won a spot on the State Central Committee. I came in first that year and John brought the razor, but I lost my nerve. I never forgot that I owe him one.
A little over a year ago, John lost his mother to lung cancer. She was an amazing woman who loved her family and could brighten up anyone's day. It was unexpected and fast.
It so happened that this year  Dan Tompkins asked me if I would participate with him and the Baldtenders in the St. Baldricks Foundation fundraiser. I couldn't think of a better time for me to honor my pledge to John -- and more importantly honor the life of his mother Patricia -- then by participating in the St. Baldrick's event as a shavee, with John as my special guest "barber."
Pat was an adult who we lost too soon to cancer, and she loved children -- especially her grandchildren. I honor her by doing this to help kids with cancer.
Will you make a donation and support me in this effort? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. And it is a wonderful tribute to Pat Tirabassi and her amazing family. Please help me exceed my goal and support my efforts!
Thank you for your time to read this, and for supporting me in this effort!
Johnny
