I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Back in 2008 this organization became a light in my life. At that time my great niece Haley Gayler ( Marty Gayler's little girl) was diagnosed with brain cancer. The diagnosis was glioblastoma. She was the sunshine in not only her father's life but that of my older sister Michelle Leonard. When she walked into the room she lit it up with her vibrant smile and light that emitted from her just being there. She was truly God's child. At that time I shaved my head in support of Haley. On October 23, 2009 Haley lost her battle with cancer. It was like the light went out of the world for those close to me. In 2010 I shaved my head again in her memory. Many years have passed. There have been dark days but Haley continues to shine her light in many different ways to let us know she is okay. We continue to search for therapies that will help those children that continue to struggle through the battles that cancer gives. Those children are fighters and they are the light in this sometimes dark world. This year I will again shave my head in support of all the children that fight this awful disease. I also do this in your memory Haley wink emoticon I will also donate my hair (it has gotten quite long) in memory of my mamas that I also lost to cancer (Miss you mama, and Mama G). Help join me in supporting this cause. Thank you for visiting my page. I hope and pray you will be generous to help me reach my goal of $1000.00. Thank you and God bless!
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
